Hitting It Hard

Walking done. ✓

Now for some floor work.

No overthinking. No excuses. Just doing the work.

Yes.

Doing it.

I May Have Left Something Out?!

Now let’s get a little woo-woo.

I have to ask the question:

What’s missing?

Is that the important question that needs to be answered? Or is there more to it?

Am I doing this for others, or am I doing this for me?

Maybe it’s time to tap into my courage. To stop listening to the news, the noise, and everyone around me telling me why this won’t work.

Maybe it’s time to realise that what I need is already within me.

It’s there now. It’s there for the taking.

And maybe the only thing missing was believing that I’m capable of more — and refusing to accept anything less from myself.

Fear Means Go

Am I playing too small?

Maybe fear isn't telling me to stop. Maybe it's telling me this matters.

It's time to hit it hard.

If I get abandoned, I'll go find the help again. It's out there. The ultimate plan exists — and so do the people who can help me get there.

All I have to do is find them.

No more playing small.

Let's do it.

Excited? Nervous?

Both?

Interesting how making a decision that brings great peace can then present as abject fear.

I could lean on the quote that goes something like, “People won’t judge you on your unfulfilled potential.”

That judgement is between you and you.

And yes, I’ll know.

I can’t have that.

Plans will be reviewed as they unfold.

New Day, New Plans.

Once momentum starts, everything else follows

The excitement continues — and the flights are booked.

Now it’s time to test the waters. Or, more precisely, get the lay of the land.

And an old saying comes to mind that I think is about to serve me very well:

When in doubt about which direction to take, or what to do next — travel north.

Sometimes you don’t need the whole map.

You just need a direction.

Follow your North Star.

Brown Dog Night

Half a step forward and two steps back.

Just when I feel like I’m settling back into my body, it starts biting back, and nothing seems right.

Even my heart hurts.

I feel caught in a loop of uncertainty—never quite knowing whether I’m moving forward or simply circling the same ground again.

Tonight, everything feels harder than it should.

But tomorrow will be better.

It has to be better.

Did I Even Sleep?

I remember waking, but not sleeping.

What’s going on here?

I get right to the cusp of a breakthrough, then one bad decision sees it all begin to unravel. Suddenly I’m telling myself, tomorrow will do.

But how many tomorrows do I get?

I can’t keep trading progress for immediate gratification and then wondering why I feel like a professional athlete wrapped up in another scandal. Maybe that sounds dramatic, but sometimes that’s exactly what it feels like.

I can tell myself “life’s short” as much as I like, but that can’t become an excuse for getting in my own way.

I know what I want.

It’s time to get serious now.

I love disco's

Finally, the disco was here. I’d promised myself that this time, I would be out there dancing.

Instead, I sat from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., when—thankfully—it was over and everyone went home.

Okay, new goal: get the fuck on with it and figure this the fuck out.

It’s my birthday soon, and I want to dance at my birthday.

Late Night, Early Morning

Yes, I’m back in control, feeling strong and only a little tired before my walk this morning.

Personal training after that, followed by a high-protein meal.

My sternum is holding up and feeling better with each sleep.

The momentum is back. The body is cooperating. The plan is simple.

Today is good.

4:30 A.M.—Let’s See What Happens.

Actually, it’s 4:30.

The voice says, “It’s too late for you. Nobody would notice anyway.”

Is this real—or is it just a bad night talking? Is it hunger? Exhaustion? Doubt arriving before dawn?

Well, I’m awake now.

Let’s exercise and see what happens next.

The Best Offer I Turned Down

I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself for turning down offers to go out drinking until late. Instead, I stayed home and was asleep by ten.

This time, I slept for six uninterrupted hours—which is phenomenally, unbelievably, indisputably excellent. Woo-hoo!

Then, just when I thought sleep was over at 4 a.m., another three hours showed up.

Nine hours in total.

Finally, I’m feeling refreshed.

Yes, I made it to the barber—and I’m feeling lighter after a double zero with a flourish. That’s the lingo for those in the know! It’s the closest finish to a razor without actually using one.

And already I’m turning heads. Or perhaps that’s because the top two rows of my six-pack are now making an appearance.

This didn’t just happen. It took plenty of work—and a distinct lack of chocolate cake—to get here.

Now the motivation has kicked up another bar or two. Once the results start showing, the cravings for chocolate cake and beer fall below zero. I love it!

After I finish my protein snack, I might even get down on the floor for another session. Today’s creation is high-protein yoghurt, honey, a square of 95% dark chocolate, and half a cup of chia seeds soaked in kefir and water. Yum!

It’s interesting what you develop a palate for once your focus turns towards optimal health.

And the honey? I hear you ask. That’s my quick source of carbohydrate when I feel as though my bloodstream and muscles could use some readily available fuel. My body is still adapting, and I’m learning what helps me feel and perform at my best.

As for the myelin issue, I’m still working that one out—but I will.

Keep watching this space.

I’m on it!

Stronger and Unencumbered.

Yes—another day. Again and again.

I’m growing stronger. I can feel it. In fact, I could probably manage to do my bra up by now, but I’m enjoying the exhibitionist freedom of tight black crop tops. They let me move without being encumbered by too much clothing.

With the warmer weather here, there’s an obvious need for even less of it. Moving to this tropical paradise was one of the best things I ever did—no heavy coats or long pants to weigh me down and get in the way.

Today brings another personal-training session, followed by a much-needed haircut. Hair can get in the way too, demanding time and attention I’m no longer willing to give it.

A double zero is my look. A razor might be going just a little too far—but never say never.

Stronger. Lighter. Freer.

Let’s do it again.

Take the Risk

Someone just reminded me of this.

You’re responsible for your own life — and above all, don’t just take what you can get.

Decide what you actually want.

Take the risk. Chase something bigger. And have some fun doing it.

Because playing it safe isn’t always the same as living.

And yes, this is the philosophical post for today.
